On Sunday 21st April 2024- Luis Hulyer was one of the 50K runners taking on the epic 26.2 miles of the TCS London Marathon..

Luis opted to fundraise for the Macmillan Brook Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich, in thanks for the care received by his mum following her breast cancer diagnosis.

Luis said: ‘'My mum received the best care at Macmillan Brook Unit from her diagnosis of cancer in April 2022, through her surgery in June 2022, the awful effects of chemotherapy from August 2022 to January 2023, a fortnight of radiotherapy in April 2023, and her ongoing treatment since.

Luis raised an incredible £2111 pounds, and attended with his mum Sheila and Dad Paul to present a cheque to the team at the Macmillan Unit.

The funds raised by Luis will make such a difference to our oncology patients at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and as a patient Sheila will be making recommendations to improve the environment for patients receiving Chemotherapy .

We are so grateful to Luis for choosing to fundraise for our Charity whilst undertaking this enormous challenge.
