The difference you make

It is only thanks to the generosity of our supporters that we are able to make a difference to patients and staff at University Hospital Lewisham, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich and at the community settings that Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust serves.

What your help enables us to do

Your donations have helped to fund projects making significant improvements at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust such as:

Enhancing patient experience with new equipment:
Our Charity makes a real difference by purchasing additional items to enhance patient experience. As examples, our Charity funds:

  • Breast pumps for neo-natal wards to support mothers expressing while their babies are being cared for in our Neonatal Unit .
  • A gynaecology ultrasound scanner
  • Exercise equipment for the Physiotherapy Unit.
  • Equipment such as a TV and furniture for waiting areas and well as entertaining equipment for our young patients.

Improving patient welfare and education projects funded:

  • Enhanced Supportive Care (ESC) Nurse Lead role cancer patients,
  • Toys for paediatrics departments and warm clothes for patients leaving the hospitals.
  • Mobile phone charging units for patients and visitors to use in our Emergency Departments.
  • Light installations to improve our young patients' experience.

Supporting staff to deliver the best possible care projects funded:

Our Charity also ensures we focus our efforts on staff wellbeing initiatives.

Working with colleagues in the Trust’s Wellbeing Team, and funding key initiatives such as
  • Dedicated staff psychologist's to provide 1:1 sessions, and team workshops on themes such as resilience and work-life balance.
  • Improved facilities for staff rest areas -purchasing items such as comfortable seating, fridges, microwaves.
  • A bicycle shelter for staff
  • Christmas day lunch for all staff working on 25th December

Staff Wellbeing will continue to be at the forefront of our Charity’s work and is reflected in the range of ongoing projects we support.
