On Saturday 9th September, at approximately 10:20am two of our colleagues ascended to 12,000 feet to skydive for our Charity.

Flying Physiotherapists Danny and Tom faced the ultimate fear to complete a truly awe inspiring challenge. Our brave Colleagues - Danny and Tom, Senior Physiotherapists based at University Hospital Lewisham have so far raised an amazing £1,100 for our Charity.

Tom and Danny explained

It was one of the best things we have ever done. Sitting with my legs dangling out of the plane at 12,000 Ft was a fear I will never forget, especially when Tom, sat behind me, said "I'm not doing that" with one or two more expletives. The first few seconds of freefall were terrifying but after that I managed to enjoy the next 20 seconds of the fall (despite traveling at 135 mph). I can't describe the relief when the parachute opened and I knew I was going to live, thank goodness for my Monday morning caseload. It took a good half hour for my hands to stop shaking with adrenalin, but I was so ready to get up there and go again! We can't thank the Charity enough for making this happen and for everyone who donated to this fantastic cause! WHAT A DAY

Gemma Kelly, Fundraising Coordinator at our charity said "It was such a privilege to be part of such an exciting event, Danny and Tom could not have wished for better weather, it was was a beautifully clear day. And to witness the pre-dive nerves become the post dive elation was amazing."

We cannot thank Danny and Tom enough for taking on this challenge in support of Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Charity.
