Last Sunday 6^th April, five of our amazing Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust colleagues including from pharmacy and physio departments completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of our Trust Charity.

Collectively they helped us raise a generous £2,277 (including Gift Aid) for our charity. We are grateful for the support of these colleagues Chloe Tolley, Kirsty Elfetsi, Ellen Davies, Jack Carroll plus past colleague Charlie Ludlow and all those who have donated to their fundraising pages.

Their fundraising efforts will enable our Charity to make a difference to staff and patients, funding projects and initiatives over and above NHS provision.

Chole told us:

“I'm excited to take on the London Landmarks Half Marathon - my first ever! Every step I take represents my commitment to our patients and colleagues, and the difference we can make together for the health and well-being of our community”.

Kirsty shared:

“Exercise really is the best medicine - it will be an exciting challenge to take part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon! The LGT charity is a great cause, improving patient care as well as visitor and staff experience at my place of work.”

Ellen - foundation year 2 doctor in A&E said: 

“I am really excited to be running for the LGT charity on Sunday. In my nearly two years working for the trust I have seen how some of the money for the charity is used to supply toys for the children’s ward and breast feeding pumps for the postnatal ward in my time as a doctor in the obstetrics and paediatrics departments. 

“I have seen first-hand how the supplies can make such a difference to patient’s experiences during their time in the hospital. I’m pleased to be able to use my hobby, running, to contribute to the charity’s excellent work. Although training has been tough alongside my work rota I’m just hoping to enjoy the day and raise some money for a good cause.”
