Twenty spirited Team LGT runners took on The Big Half 2025 on Sunday, 7 September, collectively raising a generous £2,614 for  our Charity. The group included Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust colleagues from all departments and running backgrounds from first timers to seasoned marathoners.

Our Charity's cheering point at Mile 12 captured many of our Big Half champions, giving them a much needed boost on their last mile!

We are so grateful for the fantastic Team LGT efforts and extend our grateful thanks to all those who so generously contributed towards their fundraising efforts.

We were fortunate enough to have some of our amazing participants share why they are taking part in the Big Half and supporting the Trust Charity.

Duaine Nwadikwa – Senior Rotational Physiotherapist

I am running a half marathon to support the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Charity because I believe in giving back to the incredible healthcare workers who go above and beyond every day. Their dedication, compassion, and tireless efforts have touched countless lives, including my own. This charity plays a vital role in funding projects that improve patient care and staff wellbeing across our local hospitals. By running, I hope to raise awareness and funds that will directly support frontline staff and enhance services. It's my way of saying thank you and standing in solidarity with our amazing NHS heroes”.

Dylan Dukes – LGT Physiotherapist

“My name is Dylan; I’m 24 and work as a physiotherapist here at LGT. Every day I see first-hand how tirelessly our staff care for patients and their families. Running in the Big Half gives me the chance to support them while raising funds for our hospitals. Knowing that each step helps to make a real difference will keep me motivated to the finish line. I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to take on the challenge — hopefully, the training pays off!”

Daniella Donadio - Clinical Specialist In-Patient Paediatric Physiotherapist

"This year I wanted to challenge myself to do something I never thought I would be able to do before, and running a half marathon was one of them. Being able to run this half marathon for our Trust is so special to me, as I work in Paediatrics and know how important our Charitable funds are for improving the lives of our patients and making their hospital stay as pleasant as possible. I am proud to be representing our Trust at our home race with my colleagues and am so excited for the race!" (Daniella is pictured below left) with fellow runner Holly.

Raju Neupane – Clinical Site Management administrator- QEH

“Completing the Big Half to me means I am accomplishing, my own-wellbeing and inspiring  my kids, family, friends and others to join into the journey. I am supporting our charity because LGT means a lot to me, and so it being a local hospital, every single penny counts to improving staff wellbeing and patient care."
