Goals for Good: LGT Football Tournament 2025 Goals, sportsmanship, and solidarity were on full display as Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust colleagues and trust partners gathered for the 2025 LGT Charity 5-a-side Football Tournament at St Dunstan's College on Friday 18 July. The tournament featured 8 teams competing in a fast-paced 5-a-side format, with group stages leading to a thrilling knockout round. From dazzling goals to nail-biting finishes, the pitch was alive with energy and camaraderie. These 8 teams consisted of Medical Records, Community Therapies, Finance, HATS, ISS, 2 Physiotherapy teams and a group of individuals from different departments. The football tournament raised £1,070 for our Charity, and we cannot be more grateful to all that took part. In the concluding showdown, it was defending champions the Finance team facing off against Medical Records. After a very tense game, it came down to a penalty shootout and we can announce that Medical Records held their nerve and took home the trophy this time around! Well done team and thank you everyone involved for making this such a special event. In the end, it was medical records who were able to dethrone Stars of Finance and take home the champions trophy for this year, in a super close affair. Lastly, a special thank you to the Trust colleagues who were part of the tournament organisation committee, Wolla Bargee, Jackie Keizer, Tanya-Marie Robinson, Cal Demby-Harris, Umar Hussain, Anam Hoque, Sue Andrews as well as our fantastic referees Simon and Arun. This event was organised in conjunction with the colleague Wellbeing Team.
