Our Charity has been able to support the Physiotherapy Team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital with the purchase of dedicated equipment to enhance patient care. Thanks to the support from The League of Friends of Queen Elizabeth Hospital, our Charity was able to purchase an adjustable 3 in 1 Leg Press, Hack Squat & Hip Sled Machine, as well as a digital dynamometer for this department.

The Adjustable Leg Press, Hack Squat & Hip Sled Machine provides patients with the opportunity to perform three different weight training exercises; leg presses, squats and calf raises with one machine. This will support patients recovering from mobility issues, by improving their strength, flexibility and balance. One of the Trust's physiotherapy patients, Luis in benefitting from this machine to help build up strength in one of his knees.

In addition, the Physiotherapy team can now monitor the progress of patients like Luis, by using the Activforce 2 digital dynamometer that was also purchased by our Charity. The digital dynamometer uses advanced technology to collect and track real-time, objective data for muscle movement and range of motion. This allows the Physiotherapy team to track and assess the muscle strength and mobility improvement of patients. Eleanor Sugden, a physiotherapy student kindly stepped in to help give a demonstration on how to use the Activforce 2 digital dynamometer under the guidance of colleague Jack Carroll.
